If you fancy a drive out on Saturday there are are a few places of interest locally, including. . . OLD RAILWAY STATION The railway is disused, long closed, but the site is well used by walkers rambling by the Wye. There's a short walk in a loop and the station café supplies a menu of light lunches and teas. The coaches are static and provide something for the children and local information.
TINTERN ABBEY where you'll have the time to have a look around before making your way back to base. There's a visitor centre, refreshments and facilities.
You'll need a few coins for parking.
For example, it's about £1 for 3 hours (the last time we went there) at the station. Walkers will need suitable footwear.
