There will be a Saturday afternoon drive to show off some of the beautiful countryside and local attractions. Not too far as many will already travelled some distance.
What we intend to do is leave the Showground at 1.00pm for a driving treasure hunt, possibly dropping into the Old Railway Station and other places of interest along the route. OLD RAILWAY STATION The railway is disused, long closed, but the site is well used by walkers rambling by the Wye. There's a short walk in a loop and the station café supplies a menu of light lunches and teas. The coaches are static and provide something for the children and local information.
TINTERN ABBEY where you'll have the time to have a look around before making your way back to base. There's a visitor centre, refreshments and facilities.
The total distance is about 25 miles so there's plenty of time to have a good look around. You'll need a few coins for parking.
For example, it's about £1 for 3 hours at the station. Walkers will need suitable footwear.
DRIVERS PLEASE ACT RESPONSIBLY WHILE ON THE ROAD
For those of you who would rather stay at the showground, we've been informed that there will be a car boot sale in an adjacent field on Saturday 1100 until 1500.
